The referee stopped the fight briefly and warned Barrera to remain in his neutral corner. The fight resumed with Barrera taking the fight to the ground, getting mount, and standing the fight back up.

Round 3 – Titus spent some time on top but appeared gassed and without power in his ground and pound. Barrera also appeared tired and left himself open as the referee moved closer and closer. He stood the men and called the ringside physician to examine Barrera who was permitted to continue. With renewed energy, Titus got a takedown cinched a guillotine, and tapped the exhausted Barrera.
