Jared Olguin – Out For Blood

FF: So you’re fighting fellow Casper WY resident Billy Johnson…

JO: Yes. He was actually my first fight. It was his debut fight
as well. We went all three rounds and it ended up going to a judges decision
which was unanimous in my favor.

FF: You promised blood for this one. It’s almost like there’s a
little more to it than just two opponents squaring off in a rematch…

JO: Yeah, he’s been running his mouth about me, which, I don’t
talk crap on any of the fighters but I guess he’s been wanting this fight for a
while now and he really thinks he’s got what it takes so I’m going to bring my
best once again. I guess he thinks his stand-up is so much better than mine and
that’s how he’s going to fight me. So we’re going to war. Stand-up is where I
love to keep it. I love to give the crowd exactly the kind of show they want to
see, the blood and the knock outs, you know, everybody loves to see a good old
knock out.

FF: Yes they do…Tell us a little bit about the training that
you do every day.

JO: We do a whole lot of sparring at my gym. We do, like I said
Jiu Jitsu and wrestling and mix Muay Thai in. So Mondays we’ll usually go for
sparring, Wednesdays is circuit training Friday is free day so we pretty much
mix it up and do whatever we want. Then boxing is Tuesdays and Thursdays.

FF: Are you prepared to go three rounds just in case this fight
goes all three rounds like last time?

JO: (laughs) I’m most definitely prepared, my cardio is there,
I’m ready to fight three hard rounds but like I said I’m hoping it doesn’t go
three rounds. I don’t want to give him another reason to run his mouth.

FF: What gym do you train out of?

JO: Me and Chad Barker we train out of a gym right behind Kmart
here in Casper it’s called team TNS which we started about three and a half
years ago and have just basically kept it since. TNS stands for Tap, Nap, or
Snap. Chad used to hold the featherweight belt for KickDown. We pretty much
train and spend our whole day together. He actually blew out his back so he’s
just doing the coaching side right now.

FF: What are your plans for MMA?

JO: I’m a single father so I have to work around my daughter as
well so it’s going to be hard for me to make it professionally without getting
the money to support myself right away. Eventually I would like to go pro but
I’ve got a lot to work on first. There are glitches all over the place in my
game so it’s a long road to get to the professional ranks.

FF: Ever plan to come to Denver to fight?

JO: That depends because being a single father, there’s no mom
involved here, so I spend all my days and nights with my daughter and at school
and work and training so, yeah, if I could ever find a weekend off I’d love to
come to Denver and fight.

FF: Are you expecting a lot of fans to be in the crowd Saturday?

JO: Oh yeah, there’ll be a lot of “Colt 45” fans out there I
guarantee it. I used to fight at 145, I plan on jumping up in weight, but I
used to just fight at 145 so that’s where my nickname comes from.

FF: Well thanks for getting us excited about watching this one on
Saturday.

JO: Thank you.
