Jorge Alonso Dominguez – Looking to Smash Guys…

Jorge Alonso Dominguez – Looking to Smash Guys…

FF: How did you get onto this fight card?

JAD: Basically I just started training with American Top Team. I
know Bobby Lashley very well. Both he and my coaches know what I can do so they
put me on the card.

FF: What’s your record?

JAD: 1-0-0 as an amateur.

FF: What weight are you fighting at?

JAD: 145 at this point. I’m a little small for the weight class
right now so maybe I’ll go down in weight or put on some muscle. But, right now
I don’t know.

FF: What type of fighter are you?

JAD: Well basically we learn it all at my gym (American Top
Team). We go hard on the ground and we go hard on the stand-up. I like to say
I’m more of a striker but I’m both.

FF: How do you like that facility over there?

JAD: It’s great man you should check it out. We actually moved a
couple blocks down into a new gym so the facility is a lot bigger now. But it’s
a real good gym and you get everything there.

FF: Do you know who you’re fighting yet?

JAD: Actually I don’t.

FF: What’s your strategy when you don’t know anything about your
opponent?

JAD: Well, I just size them up and then do what we do at our gym
which is put the pressure on.

FF: So your conditioning is on point I take it?

JAD: I’m getting better and better every day. There are still
some people at my gym who can out pace me but, yeah, I’m up there.

FF: Where are you from?

JAD: Well, I was born in Texas but I’ve been living here for most
of my life.

FF: How did you get into MMA?

JAD: I’ve been a fan of MMA since I was a kid so I’ve been
watching it ever since the sport started to blow up. I’ve always trained with
my brothers. We just liked to roll around and then we finally took it to the
gym.

FF: How long ago did you finally decide to take it to the gym?

JAD: I started training this January but my brother has been
training for three years.

FF: Tell us about your training, like what all you do…

JAD: We train three times a day three days out of the week. We
have sparring nights…we have a really busy schedule honestly.

FF: What’s next for you?

JAD: Basically the plan is, we got into this to go pro. We have
dreams of being in the UFC on day, me and my brother. So we just want to come
into this amateur thing and get about 10-15 fights and if we’re able to smash
our opponents then we will look at going pro. Bobby just wants us to get better
and then we’ll go from there.

FF: What’s your brother’s name?

JAD: Tony Dominguez. He has three amateur fights, one kick boxing
and two MMA.

FF: Tell the fans what they can expect when they come see you
fight…

JAD: They’re going to see really good techniques being put on
display for MMA.

FF: Anything else?

JAD: Just come check out the fights. It’s going to be show, not
just me but a lot of other fighters too.

FF: Well good luck Saturday night. Thanks for talking.

JAD: Alright. Thanks a lot.
